Herniated Discs are NOT a Life Sentence

Herniated Discs are NOT a Life Sentence

Herniated discs are one of the most common issues related to the health of the spine.

Why are these discs are so important?

Visualize yourself jumping and up and down.  What would happen to the bones, making up your spine, without the support and cushioning of these disc?

How about if you move your back from side to side?

You can imagine the amount give and take these discs provide that sit between each vertebra.

You'd agree that If the discs were absent, your spine would not function optimally, right?

Traumas, overuse, injuries and/or diseases can create instances where parts of the disc become torn, and the inner gelatinous substance can penetrate the spinal canal/spinal cord and pinch the nerve.Because of those nerves being pinched, one could experience symptoms of intense pain along the spine or into the extremities (legs/arms/hands/feet).  Such as sciatica, shoulder pain, arm pain, back pain, neck pain or tingling/numbness.

Is the Disc Herniation The Problem?

Commonly, disc herniations have been attributed to be the culprit of several different conditions.  Yet, it has been found that 40% of people can have disc herniations and experience NO SYMPTOMS at all!!

Essentially, people who attribute their pain to a disc herniation quite possibly have had the herniations for months, even years, but never experienced any pain.

Their bodies were in a vulnerable state that could be aggravated by the smallest movement; a cough, a sneeze, a laugh, or picking up a box.

What many people do not realize is that having a disc herniation is not a life sentence.  Additionally, people are under the impression that it is unsafe to consult a chiropractor to receive care.

Can Chiropractic Care Help Disc Herniations?

At TruCentered Chiropractic Care, we focus on correcting the underlying NeuroStructural shifts that led to the degradation of the disc.  While many other doctors focus on removing pain, we have in numerous instances seen where the MRI shows that the disc has reabsorbed and healed! It is important to seek care soon after pinching a nerve.  Early intervention can prevent any long-term pressure that causes chronic pain and permanent nerve damage.

If you or someone you know is struggling from a bad disc and/or pinched nerve, TruCentered Chiropractic Care may be able to help.
